FKM is taking  part to a 4-day test session with Michelin in Misano, Italy. Rubber, rubber, rubber… that’s what is all about!

After his weekend in Le Mans for the Rencontres Peugeot Sport, where Franck enjoyed himself a lot although he had loads of technical issues with his Peugeot 207, the Frenchman is now back at the wheel of his 908 in Misano, near Bologna, for a 4-day test session with Michelin. His main objective: define what the 2010 tyre sets should be about!

Needless to say that when it’s about tyres Franck knows what he’s talking about. When he was a test driver for Renault, there was no limitation for the testing sessions and two manufacturers were competing in F1… so he had to carry a lot of tyre testing and he just loves it! It’s all about pure performance! You just test one new set after another and you have to make the most of it… exciting for sure for our FKM!

This week, he is sharing the wheel of the Peugeot 908 with Lamy and Sarrazin but so far he’s the fastest on track and has the best laptime average. What else could we hope for!

The track conditions seem pretty challenging as they keep changing throughout the day but FKM seems to enjoy the track a lot. He just discovered it on Monday afternoon and he already knows where to put his wheels pretty efficiently!

But this test session is not only about doing laps and setting some laptimes… no, FKM has to follow loads of debriefs with the Michelin engineers. He has a strong and very valuable technical baggage and trust me, he’s very dedicated and focused because he knows how important these few days are for next season!
